- Optometry Australia (OA)
- Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics UNSW

Glen graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1994 and worked as a locum for a large chain optometry group. Locum employment provided an opportunity to gain experience working with different demographics of the population. Not happy with the restrictions of corporate optometry he then worked for independent optometrists.
It was during this time that he became interested in Behavioural Optometry. This interest was the catalyst for further study including a Masters of Behavioural Optometry at the UNSW and attainment of Fellowship at the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrist. Gaining Fellowship is a rewarding experience, it teaches the skills required for treating children with strabismus (turned eye), Amblyopia (lazy eye) and learning difficulties.
Glen has completed post graduate study in ocular therapeutics, he is endorsed to prescribe schedule 4 medicines for anterior eye pathology, infections and inflammation.

About Southern Optical
Southern Optical opened its doors at Kareela Shopping centre in 2000. Even though we operated out of a small shopping centre it didn’t take long to establish a large and loyal client base. The practice was built on word-of–mouth referrals.
In 2013 we relocated to bigger and better premises at 574 Box Rd, Jannali. The relocation gave us more space to increase our frame display and add a third testing room for vision therapy. Currently there are over 700 frames on display so there is something for every face and personality.
We believe in supporting the local community by donating to schools, churches, clubs, The Cancer Council and The Children’s Hospital.
